Whether your goal is to demonstrate English language competencies for the workplace, immigration, or academic admission, inlingua® Washington DC offers IELTS and TOEFL preparation courses and schedules that enable you to succeed. Students who have reached CEFR B2 (high-intermediate) either at our language school or in another English program are able to begin their test preparation courses in group and/or private classes, either at our school or at a study location of the student’s choice.

IELTS at inlingua® Washington DC
IELTS (the International English Language Testing System) is an English proficiency exam that measures the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is the language of communication. It’s the world’s proven English test. Over 2.4 million candidates take the test each year to start their journeys into international education and employment.
Who should take the IELTS exam? Anyone whose first language is not English can take these exams. People take the IELTS test for many reasons, there is the academic format for those who want to study in an English-speaking university of higher education but there is also the General Training format for those who take it to improve their English proficiency for professional or business purposes. IELTS is also used for immigration purposes in certain countries where English is the official language.
Where is the IELTS certificate accepted? IELTS scores are accepted by over 8,000 organizations worldwide, including universities, employers, immigration authorities, and professional bodies.

Each eight-week course focuses on specific tasks and academic skills necessary to succeed on the exams. TOEFL at inlingua® Washington DC
The TOEFL iBT test measures candidates’ ability to use and understand English at the university level. It also evaluates how well they combine listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills to perform academic tasks.

Candidates take the TOEFL test for many reasons: As with IELTS, some candidates take it to achieve English proficiency requirements for admissions to universities; others take it to improve their English proficiency for professional or business purposes. TOEFL is also used for immigration purposes in certain countries where English is the official language.
Where can I use the TOEFL certificate? More than 8,500 colleges, agencies, and other institutions in over 130 countries accept TOEFL scores. TOEFL is also recognized by professional bodies, immigration authorities, and other government agencies.
Authentic Materials: Our course uses TOEFL preparation material developed by the creator of the exam, and uses software that approximates the time, multiple-choice TOEFL iBT.
Location: inlingua® Washington DC, as a leading language institute in Washington DC, is an official TOEFL iBT examination center. The course and the official examination will be administered at our language school.
