Academic Programs

The mission of inlingua® Washington DC is to provide instruction in English as a Second Language to international students for their academic, professional and personal needs, and to promote cross-cultural understanding and academic excellence. Its mission is to also provide students with an opportunity to evaluate their performances through various test mechanisms, so that they may better respond to academic and immigration needs.

Classes at all levels, from beginner to advanced levels, plus Test Preparation Courses in TOEFL, IELTS, GRE and GMAT, and an Intensive Teacher Training (TEFL) Certificate Program. We also customize professional and academic English seminars and courses for diplomats, lawyers, law enforcement officers, engineers, business executives, architects, customs officers, etc. There are advanced courses for students who wish to develop specific skills: Microsoft Office 2007 to prepare students seeking work or study in an English environment; Accent Reduction Seminar to learn to speak with more natural American intonation and rhythm, and understand the speech of native English speakers more clearly; American Business Culture for those seeking work in the U.S. with greater professional attributes; as well as other elective classes.

Classes are held all year round, except for national holidays.

METHOD & AMBIANCE:

Students are exposed to the language at all times, which ensures that they will begin to think in English. The program includes speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills development. Classes take place in a friendly and professional environment and are conducted by qualified native-speaking English teachers. To ensure personal attention to the students’ needs, classes are kept small.
