About

inlingua® Washington DC is a comprehensive language school located in Arlington, Virginia, next to Washington, DC, the capital of the US.  It was established in 1986, part of the world’s largest association of independent language schools founded in 1968 in Switzerland.  Today there are 345 inlingua schools in 44 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America.

The mission of the inlingua Washington DC is to provide instruction in English as a Second Language to international students for their academic, professional and personal needs, and to promote cross-cultural understanding, and academic excellence.  Its mission is also to provide students with an opportunity to evaluate their performances through various test mechanisms, so that they may better respond to academic and immigration needs.

There are students from all over the world at our school.  We offer general group English classes at all levels, from beginner to advanced, plus Test Preparation Courses in TOEFL, IELTS, GRE and GMAT; and an Intensive Teacher Training (TEFL) Certificate Program.  We also customize professional and academic English seminars and courses for diplomats, lawyers, law enforcement officers, engineers, business executives, architects, customs officers, etc.

In addition to regular English courses, inlingua is an Official TOEFL Testing Center for the iBT TOEFL, and an Official IELTS Testing Center.

We have partnership agreements with several local universities through which we offer a streamlined admission process for those inlingua students who have achieved English proficiency, and for those in need of conditional admission while studying at our school.
